REC net profit up 25% at Rs 618 cr

Rural Electrification Corporation posted a net profit of Rs 618.21 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2010, up 25.05% as compared to Rs 494.36 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009.

The company's total income increased by 28.29% per cent to Rs 2,082.12 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 1622.95 crore.

The shares of the company were trading at Rs 374, down by 2 per cent at 1500 hrs on the BSE.
