Royal Enfield domestic sales up 67% to 47,710 units

Exports dip 26% to 570 from 770 units in January last year

Royal Enfield has clocked a sale of 47,710 units, domestic wholesale and exports both, in January 2016 recording a growth of 65% over same period last year. In January 2015, the company clocked total sales of 28,927 units.

While, domestic sales grew by 67% to 47,140 units in January from 28,157 units in 2015, exports dropped by 26% to 570 units from 770 units in January last year.

On January 14, Royal Enfield launched its first exclusive store in Jakarta. With this, the brand officially announced its retail readiness in Indonesia with the price announcement of its full range of motorcycles and gear.

 

"Indonesia is a key market for Royal Enfield as motorcycles are a popular medium of commuting in the country. Royal Enfield believes that the brand and its products will resonate very well in Jakarta and other key Indonesian cities," said the company.
