Energy management solutions provider Schneider Electric India is working with Uttar Pradesh Power to take electricity to villages in the state.

“We are working with several power distribution infrastructure projects to improve rural electrification,” Vivek Yadav, vice-president (distribution sales), said here.

He said almost 30 per cent savings in power consumption could be achieved through energy management.

In India, the company employs 19,000 people and runs 32 factories. It also has a research unit in Bangalore.

“In recent years, we have made six acquisitions in India to expand our product portfolio,” Yadav said. Schneider has begun a 50-city road show to celebrate its 50 years in India.
