Freight rates for the ten metric tonne load section for select southern destinations rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on tight position of trucks against busy cargo movements.
Transporters said busy movements of cargo coupled with less availability of trucks, pushed up some of centres freight rates.
Delhi to Chennai and Bangalore freights up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 42,500 and Rs 43,000.
Mysore and Pondicherry rates also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 45,000 and Rs 46,000 due to the rising mercury.
Kochi and Thirvananthapuram freights improved by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 51,000 and Rs 59,000.
Elsewhere, in other centres, freight rates maintained their last levels on some support.
