Siemens Q1 net zooms to Rs 226 cr from Rs 1.7 cr

Power equipment manufacturer Siemens today reported a net profit of Rs 225.1 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2009.
    
It had a net profit of Rs 1.65 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
    
Income from operations rose to Rs 2,368.17 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 2,142.42 crore for the same quarter last year, Siemens said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
    
For the six month ended March, the company posted a net profit of Rs 556.09 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 198.70 crore for the same period last year. PTI AKH MR
