Kicking off a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Thiruvananthapuram-based global technology player SunTec Business Solutions has roped in National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) for a mass run, christened SunTec Run for NISH 2008.

"The run is being planned as an annual event and will start this year," said a SunTec official. "This year's SunTec Run would be held on Saturday and envisages taking the company's CSR mantle to a new high. This year SunTec Run 2008 is being done in association with the National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) and is christened SunTec Run for NISH 2008," the official added.

'SunTec Run for NISH 2008' is being organised to spread awareness in the society about the need to empower differently-abled children.

The company aims at informing the society about the crucial necessity for early intervention in the lives of differently-abled children and how early detection and early intervention can go a long way into the effective rehabilitation of these children.

Elaborating on the initiative, Nanda Kumar, CEO, SunTec, said, "With a sense of responsibility towards the society and with special sensitivity towards children and education, SunTec as a conscious corporate continues to contribute its fair share. SunTec Run for NISH 2008 will underscore the company's commitment to the support of differently-abled."
