The share prices of Ahmedabad-based Torrent Pharmaceuticals surged by 19.97 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange today, from Rs 154.20 to Rs 185, on bulk deals and speculation about stake sale.

		</script> </DIV><p class='TableClas'>In two bulk deals, 25.82 lakh shares of Torrent, worth Rs 40.76 crore, were traded on BSE today. Data showed an internal transfer between the promoter groups, from two HUF (Hindu Undivided Family) members to Torrent Private, the holding company of Torrent Pharmaceuticals. 
</p><p class='TableClas'>Market sources speculated that the promoters would offload their stake partially in the near future and was talking to some well-known Indian and overseas pharmaceutical firms. </P></p></table>
