Turtle to expand in Rajasthan

Anil Sharma New Delhi/ Jaipur
Turtle Ltd, a Kolkata-based men's wear readymade garment company, has drawn up expansion plans for Rajasthan.

The company, besides planning to open exclusive showrooms in select cities of the state, also wants to strengthen dealer network in a bid to garner a bigger market share.

"We plan to open showrooms in Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur next year. In Jodhpur and Udaipur we have finalised the place and the showrooms are expected to come up early next year while the Jaipur showroom, for which the place is yet to be identified, will come up before the end of next year," Amit Saha, a company official, said.

He said besides opening the showroom, the company was also strengthening its dealer network. "In Jaipur alone we have 10 dealers and in Rajasthan we have about 35 dealers," Saha said. We are present in over 350 cities spread all over the country and our effort now is to build up in north and west parts of India. We think that in next two years, we would be able to increase our share from Rajasthan in our total turnover.

"Rajasthan at present contributes over 1 per cent in company's turnover which was around Rs 42 crore in 2006-07, with these plans in place we are confident of increasing it manifold," Saha said.

We are also organising a big sale in Jaipur to create awareness about the company, he added.
