Turtle to step up focus on Maharashtra

Turtle Limited, a menswear accessories and apparels brand, plans to open two new exclusive outlets in Pune by March 2010. Pune accounts for about 5 per cent of total Turtle sales.

The company aims to increase this figure to 8 per cent by the end of next year. It plans to open 14 new stores across Maharashtra.

Turtle Ltd is also targeting to expand to 14 more cities in the western region, said Sumitro Chandra, head, western region, Turtle Ltd. This expansion will be achieved by opening ten more exclusive stores and 45 multi brand stores.

Turtle products are currently available in 34 multi-brand outlets and at its exclusive brand outlet Turtle World in Kolhapur.

 

The company would also focus on the interior markets of Maharashtra like Karhad and beyond. In Maharashtra, Turtle is present in 25 cities and towns including Nagpur, Solapur, Tasgaon, Amravati, Baramati and Daund.

Recently, it launched a new menswear economy brand — London Bridge.

With two production units in Howrah and one in Bangalore, the company has a capacity of close to 5,000 pieces per day.

It also plans to get into the women’s category soon.
