TVS launches Apache in Andhra

| TVS Motor Company today launched its latest product in the 150 cc motorcycle segment, Apache, for the Andhra Pradesh region. The 150 cc bike powered by 13.5 bhp engine was first launched in December 2005 in Chennai. |
| With this launch, TVS aims at strengthening its position in the premium motorcycle segment and consolidate further in terms of volumes. |
| Speaking to the media, M V Krishna, assistant general manager (marketing), TVS Motor, said, "We are targeting to capture at least 30 per cent of the market share in the premium motorcycle segment with this launch." |
| TVS plans to sell around 1.8 lakh units of Apache across the country in the next fiscal. While the total number of motorcycles sold in the premium segment every month is around 55,000, TVS is targeting a sale of around 15,000 units every month. |
| P G Satish Kumar, area manager, TVS Motor, said, "The premium motorcycle segment accounts for about 2,400 units per month in Andhra Pradesh, and we plan to sell at least 800 units." |
| The bike comes in two versions. The on-road price in Andhra, of the top end version of the bike, is about Rs 59,000 while the other version is priced at about Rs 54,000. |
