Water purifier maker sets Rs 1000 cr target

'Ion Exchange India Ltd., has a goal of being a Rs 1,000 crore company within a short span of time' Souparno Majumdar, business development manager, head of institutional sales, Ion Exchange India said.
 
The marketshare of the company on the range of products using reverse osmosis technology for purifying water "� Zero B "� stood at 60 per cent at present, he informed.
 
The firm now wants to shift focus to 'B' towns like Mangalore. Ion Exchange India provides single window solutions for total water management and itr has 35,000 installations worldwide of which over 400 are at thermal and nuclear power stations, fertiliser factories, refineries, petrochemical and other industries.
 
The per capita consumption of water had dropped from 5,000 cubic metres during independence to around 1,800 cubic metres, making the country a near water-stressed nation, he said, emphasising the need to conserve water.
 
Channamallikarjun B, regional manager, South said that the sewage treatment plants set up by the company is one of the most compact requiring very little space.
 
L&T Landmark Chennai, Woodlands Hospitals at Shillong were among the 40 clients of the company in this category, he said.
