Three tourists were hurt as a boulder fell from the roof of the caves at the world famous Ellora caves in the district.

The incident occurred at Kailasa temple last evening.

One of the injured - G R Gupta, from Rajasthan has been admitted to private hospital here. A couple, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, were also injured and have left the spot, an official of Archaeological Survey of India said.

Three elephant sculptors, build 1,600 years ago, were also damaged as the boulder fell over the caves.
