Tamil Nadu to computerise 14 RTOs

Fourteen regional transport office driving centres in the state will be computerised at a cost of Rs 10-crore, the Tamil Nadu government said on Friday.
The move will enable the regional transport offices record fine details during driving tests, a state government release here said.
Chief minister J Jayalalithaa has approved Rs 10-crore for this exercises and in the first phase 14 RTOs, including those at Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Erode, Madurai and Coimbatore will be covered.
A total of 42 regional transport offices will be provided with the computerised driving Centres, it added.
