UP to give Rs 6-cr cash prize to Olympic gold medal winners

Silver and bronze medal winners would be given cash price of Rs 4 cr and Rs 2 cr respectively

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday announced a cash prize of Rs 6 crore to every Olympic gold medal winner who hails from the state.

The silver and bronze medal winners would be given cash price of Rs 4 crore and Rs 2 crore, respectively.

Yadav made this announcement while addressing the inaugural function of the 35th National Junior Rowing Championship here. The state had recently felicitated 500 sportspersons for achievements and participation in international and national sporting events.
