Apr-Sept mining revenue collection at Rs 1476.72 cr

Five out of 14 mining circles in Orissa have overshot the mining revenue collection target in the April-September period of this fiscal. These mining circles are Joda, Jajpur Road, Koira, Koenjhar and Cuttack.

In the Joda circle, the mining revenue collection in the April-September period was Rs 591.81 crore, a spurt of 46.85 per cent over the target of Rs 403 crore.

Similarly, in the Jajpur Road circle, the mining revenue collection at Rs 114.65 crore represents a marginal growth over the target of Rs 109.20 crore for the circle.

The Koira circle, where the actual revenue collection was Rs 165.23 crore, has overshot the target of Rs 151.50 crore by 9.06 per cent. For the Keonjhar circle, the mining revenue collection at Rs 50.91 crore is an increase of 43.40 per cent over the targeted Rs 35.50 crore.

 

In the Cuttack circle, the mining revenue collection at Rs 11.02 crore is a marginal rise over the target of Rs 10 crore set for the circle.

The other nine mining circles- Talcher, Sambalpur, Koraput, Rourkela, Baripada, Berhampur, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Phulbani have fallen short of the targeted mining revenue collection in this period.

The total mining revenue collection from all the 14 circles in the April-September period of 2010-11 stands at Rs 1476.72 crore, a surge of 138.68 per cent over Rs 618.70 crore achieved in the same period of 2009-10.

The state government had fixed a mining revenue collection target of Rs 2500 crore for this fiscal.
