Ban orders to ensure trouble-free counting

The City Police have decided to promulgate prohibitory orders under section 144 Cr PC for two days from May 16 around the four counting centres.

The ban orders will be in force from 6 am on May 16 to 7 pm the next day, city police commissioner Shankar Bidari told the press.

The votes of Bangalore South, Bangalore North, Bangalore Central and Bangalore Rural constituencies will be counted in four centres, he said.

Carrying of weapons and bursting of crackers and congregation of more than five persons has been prohibited, Bidari said.
