Budget a routine document: Orissa finance minister

Terming the Union Budget as a routine document, Orissa Finance Minister Prafulla Ghadai today said it was devoid of innovative programmes and provisions to accelerate economic growth.

"It is a routine budget. There is nothing new about the budget which lacks special provisions and innovative programmes to accelerate growth and development," Ghadai told reporters here.

The budget has no provision for Orissa while states like Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu have been given special treatment, he alleged.

Ghadai said, Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated for those affected by the cyclone 'Aila' in West Bengal, while the tornado-hit people of Rajnagar area in Orissa have been ignored.
