A new industrial area focused to provide space for small and medium industries would come up in Tilda-about 50 kms from the state capital of Chhattisgarh.

The industrial area would be developed by the state-run Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC), which had developed 10 industrial areas across the state.

Of the 10 industrial areas, six are located in Raipur while three have been established in Bilaspur district. In Durg district, one industrial area has been set up. The proposed project in Tilda will be the seventh industrial area in Raipur district.

"The CSIDC is waiting for the land to start the project in Tilda," CSIDC Managing Director Sunil Mishra said. The land has been identified and the corporation has requested the state government for allotting it to the CSIDC.

Mishra said the CSIDC had been focusing on promoting the micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the state. "The proposal industrial area in Tilda will be a part of the same exercise," Mishra said, adding that the project will accommodate about 100 units.
