Cong copying JDS, alleges party leader

The JD(S) Karnataka unit today alleged that Congress was copying its programmes including extending loans to farmers at four per cent interest rate with an intention to woo voters.

"The series of rallies planned by Congress from its /CT, women and labour wing were also the programmes JD(S) has already held and being copied by Congress," state unit president Merajuddin Patel claimed at a press conference here.

JD(S) will contest all the 224 seats on its own in the coming assembly elections, he said and ruled out the party forging electoral pact with any political party.

"We had a round of discussions on poll tie up with SP. But that party did not respond after that," Patel said.

The party plans to release its first list of candidates on April 8, he said.
