DGCA takes action against officials

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sought imposition of major penalty proceedings against 11 of its officers for violation of rules, the government informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. In reply to a question, civil aviation minister Ajit Singh said the DGCA had sought proceedings "for violation of the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964". Singh's reply also named 11 officers against whom the DGCA wanted proceedings. Joint Director Generals Charan Das and A K Sharan along with director level officers V P Massey, R S Passi and C P M P Raju were among the officers named by the aviation minister. Deputy Director General R K Khanna, Assistant Directors M M Kaushal and Rajiv Gaur, Junior Pilot B S Nehra, Senior Air Worthiness officer R K Yadav and Private Secretary T S Gopinath were the other officers whose names Singh disclosed in his reply.
