Dhinkia panchayat officer faces threat from anti-Posco activists

Sridhar Swain, executive officer, Dhinkia panchayat who is under alleged threat of anti-Posco activists has sought the intervention of Jagatsinghpur district collector and block development officer for postponement of gram sabha scheduled for October 17-18. Even, he has expressed his unwillingness to act as nodal officer at the gram sabha as he is under pressure from anti-Posco activists to include their proposal to reject diversion of forest land for the project. Swain alleged that anti-Posco activists had snatched palli sabha register and other project lists at Gobindpur palli sabha after they failed to reject the forest diversion proposal for Posco steel project.
