The Gujarat government on Thursday sought intervention of the minister of state for petroleum and natural gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan for recovery of Rs 10,000 crore in form of crude oil royalty from the state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Ltd.
For this purpose state energy minister today met with Pradhan in New Delhi. This meeting was held in presence of senior officials of petroleum ministry and ONGC. Patel appraised Pradhan over the issue and said that even the Gujarat High Court had issued order in favour of the state government and had directed ONGC to pay the royalty in few months. Patel urged the minister of state to direct ONGC to pay the Rs 10,000 crore royalty to Gujarat government.
