ESI raises wage ceiling to Rs 7,500

The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) decided to enhance the wage ceiling for purpose of coverage of employees under the scheme from the existing Rs 6,500 per month to Rs 7,500.

The new ceiling would come into effect shortly, an official release said. The ESIC cover is given to employees in the private sector towards their medical treatment.
