Guj to house Geospatial Tech Park

In order to push research in space technology and surveying activities in various parts of the state, Gujarat government will set up Geospatial Technology Park, which will be the first of its kind in India.

Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad today, Narendra Modi, chief minister of Gujarat announced that the state will house a Geospatial Technology Park.

Gujarat was given the award for the ‘Premier Geospatial State of India’ for the best use of space technology through the medium of Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications & Geoinformatics (BISAG).

The chief minister further said that Gujarat, with its unique geography and natural resources, possessed an immense potential for growth.

 

Balance between technological development and preservation of nature, is the need of the hour.

Gujarat is going ahead to strike this balance with optimum use of space technology, as envisaged by Dr Vikram Sarabhai, he said.
