Himachal gets Rs 136-cr cement royalty

During the past three years, Rs 136.3-crore royalty has been paid by cement plants in Himachal Pradesh to the state exchequer.
This was stated by the State Industries Minister Kishan Kapoor in the state Assembly in reply to a question here on Friday. He said in the past three years three mini-cement plants have availed of the subsidy under Central Transport Subsidy Scheme to the tune of Rs 32.5 lakh.
Asked how much waste had accumulated and what was being done to protect the environment, the minister said that no waste had accumulated during the mining operation. He said the environment impact studies had been conducted and guidelines have been issued by the Environment ministry to ACC Barmana, Ambuja Cement Darlaghat and JP Cement Bhalag.
On setting up of the Centre for Entrepreneur Development (CED) at Parwanoo, Kapoor gave details of the money spent on the creation of fixed assets and other expenses at the Centre. The CED has so far trained 17,516 candidates.
On converting Pinjore to Nalagarh National Highway into a four-lane road, the state PWD minister Gulab Singh said the feasibility report is being prepared by a consultancy.
