Hospital to perform transplantations in Bangalore

Bangalore is set to see a hospital specialising in organ transplants in August. The 500-bed hospital, coming up on Mysore Road, is a joint-venture between the Hyderabad-based Global Hospitals and BGS Trust.
 
The hospital will be operated and run by the Global Hospital while the building for the hospital and the land is owned by the BGS Trust.
 
The Hyderabad-based Global Hospitals was started in 1998 and has been focussing on multi-organ transplantations and a few other specialisations. The hospital has performed over 50 liver transplants.
 
Dr K Ravindranath, chairman, BGS Hospital said, "BGS Global will have five focussed centres in tertiary care and transplantation such as institutes for gastroenterology, live and multi-organ transplantation, neurosciences, orthopaedic and trauma services among others."
