Industry assures help to contain prices

Industry has assured the government to help bring down prices, said Ashwani Kumar, minister of state for industry, today.

Kumar said all commodities except iron and steel have witnessed a decline in prices. Wholesale price-based annual inflation rate is currently at over 7.5 per cent, its highest in more than three years, forcing the government and the central bank to take fiscal and monetary steps to contain prices.
