Janata Dal United to campaign for BJP

| Janata Dal United (JD-U) will campaign for BJP candidates in Gujarat in the coming Lok Sabha polls. |
| JD-U has not fielded any candidate in the state for the polls. |
| "We will campaign for our alliance partner BJP in the state for the victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre," JD-U state unit president Praveensinh Jadeja said. |
| JD-U is contesting in 40 seats throughout the country. Of them, 25 are in Bihar. The party has fielded four candidates in Karnataka, three in Uttar Pradesh and one in Madhya Pradesh. |
| "We are confident of winning all the 40 seats. In Gujarat, we will ensure that our ally BJP wins all the 26 seats," Jadeja said. |
| "In Gujarat, JD-U is the third largest party after BJP and Congress. We have a strong presence among the common men. We will strengthen our party at various levels by various programmes and campaigns," Jadeja said. |
| "We want to keep Congress out of power. We all have seen what they have done to this country during their rule," he said. |
| "We may have some minor differences with the NDA but all that will be sorted out through talks by our central leaders," Jadeja said. |
| Ashok Bhatt, Gujarat minister for law and legislative affairs, said, "JD-U, an important constituent of the NDA, is going to play an crucial role in forming the next government at the Centre. |
| "JD-U is not contesting in Gujarat but will help BJP by campaigning. We want to keep Congress out of power in this elections." |
| Bhatt ridiculed Congress' claim that the party will win majority of the seats in the state. |
