Japan honours NMCC Chief for industrial co-operation

The Japanese government has honoured V Krishnamurthy, Chairman of National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC), for his contribution in shaping the Indo-Japanese industrial co-operation.

According to an official statement here today, the award -- The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun -- was presented to Krishnamurthy by the Emperor of Japan.

"The award was in recognition for his contribution in shaping the Indo-Japanese relationships, particularly in the field of industrial cooperation," the statement said.
