K'taka govt dismisses 4 officers on corruption charges

The Karnataka government has dismissed four senior officers from service on charges of corruption. A decision to dismiss them was taken at the Cabinet meeting convened here.
 
Briefing reporters after the meeting, primary and secondary education minister Basavaraj Horatti said the four officers were facing various charges relating to corruption.
 
"The government decided to dismiss them from service after finding that the charges levelled against them were genuine. All the four officers will lose retirement benefits," he added.
 
Those dismissed from service are: soil conservation officer H G Shekarappa, Kollegal Junior College principal H Kempaiah, judicial officer Ningamma Patil and employment officer D Gopalaswamy.
 
SUPPORT PRICE: The Cabinet decided to extend minimum support price (MSP) for ragi, paddy and maize in Raichur district owing to fall in their prices. The MSP per quintal is as follows: Rs 525 for ragi, Rs 570 for paddy and Rs 540 for maize, the minister stated.
