K'taka will hold industrial trade fair in Mangalore

The industries and commerce department, government of Karnataka, district administration, Dakshina Kannada, District Industries Centre and Kanara Small Industries Association, Baikampady, are planning to hold a national level mega industrial trade fair "Yantra 2006", at Mangala Stadium here from 14 February to 15 March.
 
Releasing a brochure of the fair, here on Thursday deputy commissioner H V Parshwanath said the fair would not only showcase the best in manufacturing machinery and marketing of industrial products but also aims to promote the industries local as well as from outside.
 
The Export Promotion Industrial Park is coming up in Ganjimutt where 200 acres of land have been acquired and also an IT Park would come up in Fajir and Kairnagala where 500 acres have been acquired and is being developed. All this in addition to the Special Economic Zone for which 3,000 acres is required.
 
The state government has released Rs 3.5 lakh for the fair and the remaining expenditure would be looked after by the district administration, he added.
 
Speaking on the occasion Swarna Sunder, Convener of "Yantra 2006" said that at Yantra 2006 industrialists have been provided with a prestigious platform to exhibit, demonstrate and sell their products in various categories like manufacturing machinery, electric and electronic equipment, printing and publishing accessories, constructing material and sanitary ware, agricultural equipment, hospital equipment, fisheries equipment, furniture, fabrics, cosmetics and food products.
 
About 250 stalls would be put up in which boards and corporations including KSFC would also participate.
