| MIDC's new scheme for farmers arouses curiosity |

| The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation's (MIDC) policy of offering 15% land to farmers in the industrial park at 50% of the cost at which it is offering to the industries is arousing curiousity from other states also and it is getting inquiries from states like Gujrat, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. To overcome the resistance from farmers to land acquisition, MIDC has come up with the novel scheme of offering 15% of the land in the industrial park to the farmer's co-operative or joint stock company from whom land is acquired at half the price which MIDC is charging to the industries. Besides this MIDC is also offering 5% of the commercial land in the industrial park to the farmer's co-operative at 50 per cent rate.
