More Customs counters at Wagah

| In order to facilitate the returning Indian cricket fans and at the same time to avoid a repeat of the Sunday chaos at the Wagah border, the Custom department has set up an 20 additional counters and deployed extra man power in order to clear all the visitors on the same day. |
| According to sources in the customs around 15 Superintendents and 20 Inspectors were deployed to ease the pressure and moreover for speedy clearance of the fans, on the same day. |
| Besides that the immigration department has been requested to put up additional number of counters to ensure smooth clearance of passengers. |
| The department has asked the border security force and the local police to ensure enough presence of security personnel to avoid such incident. |
| Talking to Business Standard, one of the official in the custom said, "We are expecting around 3000 visitors from across the border and are hopeful to clear on the same day." He further added that although the gate has been closed by the Pakistan Rangers for the retreat but the clearance activity would go on even after the Beating retreat." |
