Non-subsidised LPG price hike halted
The move is aimed at passing on the marginal increase in international rates to domestic customers

The government, facing stiff opposition, on Thursday put on hold the Rs 26.5 increase in price of cooking gas cylinders that consumers buy beyond their quota of six subsidised bottles. “The price hike has been put on hold,” a senior oil company official said, declining to give a reason. The official said there is no change in the decision to hike price of commercial LPG cylinders. A commercial 14.2-kg LPG cylinder in Delhi would now cost Rs 1,105.5, while a 19-kg cylinder would be priced at Rs 1,551. Earlier in the day, the price of non-subsidised LPG cylinders was hiked by Rs 26.50 to Rs 922 a unit on firming international prices.
