Thai visa centre opens in city

Considering growing numbers of tourists from Pune, Thai Consulate-General in Mumbai has opened a Thai Visa Application and Processing Centres in Pune.

It has appointed Cox & Kings Global Services (CKGS) to open this centre followed by Mumbai, Panaji and Indore.  It will be accepting visa applications during 8 am to 12 pm, Monday to Friday.

This facility is the second such centre in Maharashtra, apart from Mumbai. It is opening its fifth centre in Ahmadabad on June 1.

Speaking on this, Tomwit Jarnson, Consul General of Thailand in Mumbai said, "We have appointed CKGS as our partner in operating Thailand Visa Application and Processing Centres across Western India. The number of Indian tourists arriving in Thailand leaped to almost 910,000 in the year 2011 and is expected to reach more than one million mark by the end of 2012."

 

From Pune alone, over 20,000 tourists visit Thialand every year and expected to grow by 15 per cent next year.
