Upgraded ESI Hospital in Mysore

Will be opened within six months; labour union members demand quality medicines in ESI Hospitals and dispensaries

The upgraded Employees' State Insurance Hospital in Mysore will be opened within six months and it will provide all medical facilities to ESI beneficiaries, Hospital Medical Superintendent M R Jaganath said at the Employees' State Insurancelocal committee meeting at the Mysore Industries Association on Wednesday.

Some labour union members have demanded quality medicines in ESI Hospitals and dispensaries. MIA general secretary Suresh Kumar Jain suggested an interaction with the labour secretary to sort out the need-based supply of medicines in the ESI Hospitals.

Assistant Labour Commissioner Venkatesh A Shindihatti asked all industries, labour contractors, educational institutions and service providers to extend ESI benefits to their employees.
 

The meeting decided to send a proposal to the government to start dispensaries in new areas particularly at Alanahalli where more number of educational institutions and industrial employees are residing in Mysore.
