Uttarakhand ready for APMC Act

After a long wait, the Uttarakhand government is finally ready to enact the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Act. Agriculture Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said Chief Minister R P Nishank had agreed to clear the proposal in the next cabinet meeting. The move follows a green signal by a sub-committee of the state cabinet which approved the draft Bill in this regard. Besides, a four-member expert team, which toured some states to study the impact of the Act there, also approved it.
