Wall St extend gains; ADRs advance

The Wall Street extended gains for the thrid straight day led by Democrats win in the US Congressional polls. The Dow Jones industrial average gained 20 points at 12,177. The Nasdaq added nine points to 2385.

Indian ADRs too finished mostly with gains. VSNL rallied 2.5% to $20.41. ICICI Bank advanced 2% to $36.12. Satyam and Wipro surged 1.7% each to $21.53 and $14.47, respectively. Patni Computers advanced 1.3% to $20.22. Tata Motors and Dr.Reddy's, however, slipped 1.4% each to $18 and $17.32, respectively.
