The World Bank has extended financial assistance to the tune of Rs 3,720 crore for execution of three projects aimed at development of roads, rural water supply and sanitation and municipalities in the state.
An agreement to this effect was signed by the state government and the World Bank in the presence of chief minister, K Rosaiah, here on Friday.
According to the agreement, the World Bank would be providing a loan of Rs 1,568 crore for the Rs 3,165 crore roads development project, Rs 720 crore for the Rs 864-crore rural water supply and sanitation project and Rs 1,432-crore for the Rs 1,570-crore municipalities development project.
The balance amount required for the execution of the projects would be borne by the state government. The projects are slated to be completed by 2015.
