Yellow Pages makes big leap

Beginning with a modest revenue of Rs one lakh, a decade ago 'Yellow Pages' of Mysore has hit a revenue collection of Rs 45 lakh.
Its tariff has taken a leap from Rs 2,500 a page in 1989, when the first edition was brought out, to Rs 85,000 now.
Speaking to Business Standard, after the release of the 'Mysore Yellow Pages' here recently, Vishaya Communications chief executive R Satheesh said, it has more than 95 per cent renewals, a major contributory factor for its growth.
Today, it has become the chief ready-reckoner, reflecting the changes that have occurred in the business and industrial scene of Mysore. As a humble effort, the 11th edition tries to provide some input for those planning investment or business in Mysore. It was the fourth or fifth 'Yellow Pages' in India, when it was launched in 1989.
"A first time visitor to this rapidly growing city should get a bird's eye view of the commercial and trade organisations and for this we are releasing a commercial map of Mysore, "Mysore signpost' next month," he said.
The CD version of the Yellow Pages will be distributed free of cost to industry and trade organisations like the FKCCI, CII, Nasdaq and travel agents, he added.
Mysore Zone CII Chairman R Krishna released the first copy.
