CGB staff to join nationwide strike

| The Cauvery Grameena Bank (CGB) employees here have decided to join the one-day nation-wide strike on September 29. They have decided to back the strike, for which the call has been given by the central trade unions and other employees organisations protesting against the UPA government's 'anti-labour' policies and pressing their 16 major demands. |
| The Mysore-headquartered Cauvery Grameena Bank employees will support the six demands related to the banking sector. |
| The banks are demanding a curb on downsizing of work force and lift ban on recruitment, stop privatisation and disinvestments of profit-making PSUs including nationalised banks, take urgent measures for revival of loss making PSUs. |
