Clutch of bonds lose priority sector benefit

 Investments in these bonds made on or after April 1, 2005, will cease to be counted as priority sector loans.  Meanwhile the RBI has also clarified that bank investments in the special bonds issued by National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD ) will also not be eligible for classification under priority sector lending with effect from April 1, 2007.  This has been done to rationalise banks
