Currency under watch: FM

| Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said the government is watching the rupee movement against the US dollar and is in constant touch with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). |
| The Indian rupee is currently at a 15-month low against the greenback and has depreciated Rs 0.35 per dollar in the last two trading sessions. |
| "We are watching the situation and I am in touch with the RBI governor," Chidambaram. |
| "This is a dollar-impacted change," he said adding, "other currencies, like the euro and the yen, have depreciated more against the US dollar." |
