Forex reserves above $250bn, up $3.6bn last wk

Foreign exchange reserves increased $3.568 billion to $251.330 billion during the week ended October 5, according to the weekly supplement released by the RBI today.

Foreign currency assets were up $3.569 billion at $243.524 billion. Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $7.367 billion and $2 million, respectively.

The Reserve Position in the IMF was down $1 million at $437 million.
