Nabard sanctions Rs 206cr to Andhra

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 206.01 crore to the Andhra Pradesh government under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund, making the current year's total sanctions to Rs 1,315.23 crore.
With this, the total cumulative sanctions under RIDF to Andhra stands at Rs 10,609.05 crore, against which the state government had utilised Rs 6,825.97 crore up to January 2009.
The bank has sanctioned 84 rural road projects for a length of 422.01 kilometre and 15 rural bridge projects spanning 1,508.38 metre in 19 districts of the state.
These projects, to be implemented by the roads and buildings department, would benefit 2.45 million population in 582 villages and provide access to 207 marketing centres and mandal headquarters. The works are expected to create 2.99 million mandays of non-recurring employment in rural areas, a bank release said.
