PNB launches sign-based debit card

Punjab National Bank today launched signature based debit cards for account holders, which can be utilised for e-commerce and at points of sale.

The signature based Classic Debit Card will be issued for fresh request or replacement of existing debit cards from now on. Gold Debit Card will be issued to selected customers.

"We expect the number of debit cards to reach five million by March 31, 2008. The card base is likely to grow to 10 million in 2009," said K C Chakrabarty, chairman, PNB.
