Rupee down 33 paise to 55.72/dollar
Weak opening in the domestic equity market weighed on the rupee sentiment

The rupee declined by 33 paise to 55.72 against the dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange as the American currency rose in the overseas market against other currencies.
Dealers said apart from strengthening of dollar overseas, a weak opening in the domestic equity market weighed on the rupee sentiment.
Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex fell by 101.65 points, or 0.58%, at 17,516.70.
The rupee had shot up by 53 paise to close at 55.39 against the US currency yesterday on increased capital inflows.
