Weather Risk Products Mart Kicks Off, Ryots To Gain

Small farmers can now seek protection against abnormal weather conditions and thereby safeguard their livelihood.

Weather insurance is no longer a tool limited to the likes of big farmers as several hundred small, non-irrigated farmers in India having bought risk cover against weather extremities.

With support from World Bank, IFC and ICICI Bank, ICICI Lombard General Insurance has launched a comprehensive weather insurance product offering protection to farmers against abnormal weather elements.
