The Hon'ble Supreme Court in the Writ Petition No.469 of 2014 has allowed several petitioner medical colleges in the country, which were denied permission for renewal of seats by MCI, for admission in the medical colleges by 30th September, 2014 on the basis of undertakings provided by the President/Chairman and Secretary of those medical institutions.
The admission will be given to the students based on the merit list prepared by the States and fees prescribed by the Government medical college of the respective States. The Hon'ble Supreme Court has further ordered that in case the statement made in the undertaking is found to be incorrect at the time of next inspection, their deposits with MCI will be forfeited by way of penalty.
