Embattled former Pakistani military ruler Pervez Musharraf on Monday filed a petition before the Anti Terrorism Court in Quetta seeking exemption from personal appearance in connection with the Bugti murder case.

The former President's lawyers filed a petition in the court seeking exemption from appearing in person in the case.

The Court has adjourned the hearing till September 30.

During the last hearing on August 24, the court had ruled that the trial against 70-year-old Musharraf in the Akbar Bugti murder case will be held in Balochistan and not in the national capital.

Baloch nationalist leader Bugti was killed in a military operation in Balochistan in 2006 when Musharraf was the president of the country and army chief at the same time.

Musharraf is currently under arrest at his sprawling farmhouse, just outside Islamabad, which has been turned into a sub-jail due to security concerns.
